File under, you reap what you sow : Caving to the complaints of the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), Ben & Jerry s has decided to remove the all-natural label from its ice cream. CSPI criticized the ice cream maker for falsely labelling their ice cream as all-natural because their products are processed and include ingredients not found in nature, such as alkalized cocoa and partially hydrogenated soya bean oil. Ben & Jerry s decided to drop the label but says the company will stick to what it calls its core values, such as using cage-free eggs and fair trade ingredients as environmentally-friendly practices.

But the truth is that there is no such thing as a totally processed food, says ACSH s Dr. Elizabeth Whelan. CSPI s vendetta against unprocessed foods is laden with pure hypocrisy. Every food today is in some way processed.'
