Cancer-causing bird feeders?

In his latest blog post for Medical Progress Today, ACSH's Dr. Josh Bloom uses his unique brand of sardonic humor to lambaste California s Proposition 65. Although this piece of legislation, supported overwhelmingly by the people of the state in 1986, was originally intended to protect citizens drinking water from hazardous chemicals, it has turned into a farce and, subsequently, has had a detrimental effect on business owners and the economy. Under the regulation, manufacturers who produce even the most benign of products (such as the bird feeder Dr. Bloom received over the holidays) are forced to stamp their merchandise with labels warning buyers that the materials contained in the product may cause cancer.
