The notorious anti-vaccine activist Barbara Loe Fisher filed a lawsuit against pediatric immunologist and vaccine developer Dr. Paul Offit, writer Amy Wallace, and Wired magazine publisher Condé Nast for an article in Wired wherein Wallace quoted Dr. Offit saying of Fischer, "She lies."
Dr. Offit is a pediatrician in Philadelphia who has drawn criticism for his profitable, life-saving pharmaceutical innovations and his stance against ignorant anti-vaccine activists like Jenny McCarthy in his 2008 book Autism's False Profits: Bad Science, Risky Medicine, and the Search for a Cure.
"The anti-vaccine crowd is now trying to limit free speech," says ACSH's Jeff Stier. "Barbara Loe Fisher is the ringleader of all anti-vaccine activists. Without a strong legal defense fund, we'll end our comments here, but you know what we are thinking."
