Nutrition Ph.D.

The American Council on Science and Health seeks a pro-science, evidence-based Ph.D. in nutrition for its Manhattan or Washington, DC office. Experience writing for consumers is essential. Guidelines: The American Council on Science and Health is not interested in fad diets, supplement crazes, correlation between foods and cures or causes of disease based on shoddy epidemiology or articles about food frequency questionnaire results. We separate health scares from health threats for the American public, and any work we accept will reflect that. Send CV and writing portfolio to hank@acsh.org.

Science Blogger

Do you find yourself scouring social media, journals and media outlets for health scares to debunk, amazing science to bring to the public, and activist wrongs to right? If so, you may be the right fit for a part-time science blogging position at the Council.

This is a remote opportunity, working from anywhere in the U.S.; all you need is a science degree, and to already be writing 4-5 times per day for a sizable audience. Obviously, this is not for someone who might like to write if someone were willing to give them money to do so. Like playing guitar, you have to already be doing it all the time out of love before you’re going to be good enough to get paid for it. If that blunt statement offends you, you're probably better where you are. Otherwise, please email detailed info, including a link to your body of work, to employment@acsh.org

All our interns are paid, this is not getting coffee for media executives, so you will need to have previous writing and critical thinking ability that merits consideration.
